summer is half over

a paradise under seige

heat wave

confronting paradise

fireworks,

who's celebrating?

stranded,
on a deserted beach

at the dock,

seems like yesterday

a driftwood on the beach

sunset, on the ferry

life is a beach

the weekend
coastal escape

the endless summer . . .

this weekend,

sand and surf

the past,
it's divided

the past is in the past

reconnecting with the past,

it's only the past

somewhere in a park,

there is no looking back

flying away . . .

glossing over yesterday

one week from today,

in spite of today

on a second day three,

in the midst of summer

on a second day two,

looking out . . . or looking away

no access,

on a second day one

wandering away,
from the exit

an exit,

for the day

it's water under the bridge . . . . .

suspension,
above treetops

as the slow train

rushes by

cleated, in the midst of festivities

structurally rusting away

dusk from the past . . .

fenced in

waiting for godot . . .
what's the point of waiting

a reprise,

for a summer weekend

waiting for the end of day four . . . .

day three of four . . . .

the past was just a glimpse

surviving day two of four

the second day of summer,

another day one

lost in the clouds
